Playin hooky

Yesterday I drove to work stayed for 10 mins and decided I wanted to leave. So I did. We werent doing anything and rather than spend the day bored out of my skull I went to Megans. To my excitement her hair appointment was scheduled for 10 am. So she curled my hair, I went home to change out of my work shlub. And we are off. After the hair appointment we go to taco bell for lunch then to our fav shopping spot. The Goodwill!! I got a Liz Claiborne cross body purse three shirts (one is a vintage Christian Dior) and a very jcrew esk belt. All for $16.00! Then we went to star bucks for passion tea lemonade. Oh and to rocky mountain chocolate factory for a caramel apple.

This weekend

I hit up an Estate Sale and scored some cute items..I will post them later.
I then met my sister at the mall and walked out with some much needed essentials..

I got some dusting powder from lush.. http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/body/dusting-powders/vanilla-puff-powder you should def. try some.. it smells like candy and feels like heaven.

and got me some more foundation..

Dear Target,

Why do you hate me so?

Why do you ignore, shun, and sweep me to the side when I want to shop too? Each season, you skillfully and beautifully execute exclusive designer collaborations and partnerships with the leading fashion designers- all to make high fashion attainable to the American woman- yet you ignore me. As plus size women, we are oft neglected, overlooked and always sized out of your collections.

Why?

I love to look fashionable, I love the mixing of high and low fashion, I drool at the latest Donna Karan runway collection, I HAVE AN EYE and HUNGER for fashion too! I also have money to spend as much as my straight sized sisters do.

I am not alone.

We, full figured, plus size, fa(t)shionistas  love to look just as fabulous as our sisters, yet you neglect to even think of us in the equation. We fawn over the Zac Posen for Target, and strategically finagle through the cuts that could (kinda)pass on our curves; salaciously looking as each fantastic and highly coveted collaboration passes us along- due to you ignoring our thirst and hunger for fashion.

Why?

Do you not think we care, notice, or deserve it? It is bad enough your plus size collections (if that is what it is) are squished between the seven racks of maternity, next to the clearance racks, across from bathing suits; with only one rack to shop from- and I am not exaggerating.

So that you can hear us, and know that we are SERIOUS about our plea, today Friday, September 24, 2010 I, Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista, Patrice of Afrobella, and Sarah of Style It Online have come together with our followers and the fa(t)shionistas within the plus-size community to request, demand, and call for an inclusion of and/or special designer collaborations for the plus size fa(t)shionistas.

And we will show you how through our petition.

Today we launch our petition to show you we DO LOVE YOU, but you have to work with us, cater to us, and deliver to us the same exclusive designer collections as our straight size easily sashay into.

Out fit post!!












These are my boots. I wear them as the cuffed style or pirate style. They are an old navy eBay find. I wore them with this outfit. The top is purple the tights were grey and the boots are brown.

It's been a while

Megan pointed out that I haven't blogged in a while .. So here goes.

This is a clip I made with iMovie on my iPhone 4. The first bit is just how funny and cute the hubby is. He makes me laugh.





Megan her hubby and me and my honey went to Strands cafe for breakfast. It's amazing




Megans man checking out the goods (and boy were they good) I had a prosciutto and cheese croissant. It was amazing an flaky.




It's downtown in an old building they have the atmosphere done just right.





These are mythical scones. =) Megan makes them.





I got to face time with my cutie niece. Ease excuse the general ilooklikecrap far in the corner I had just finished working out.





We were saying bye. It's always bittersweet. =(

A very fall comfy sweater look. But it's very light weight so I can wear it in 70 degree weather.























Without the sweater because by lunch time it was sweltering in southern Louisiana.

Mix it up

My hubby used to make me the most amazing mix cds. I miss them. Each cd brings back a rush of different memories. Each carrying different emotions and happy thoughts. I wish he'd make me them more often. I haven't gotten a well planned out one since we were dating. And they don't mean as much if I have to pester him into making one.

Kids these days..

I have a facebook *gasp* shocker i know right!!? Ok. SO! I am friends with some of my friends nieces and kids and stuff.. They are about 10 years or a little less younger than me. And they are seriously working my nerves.. And I am not a sugar coater.. and if you dont like what i said.. then dont read it.. or unfriend me.. or just shut up! Im tired of people being so sensitive to facebook.. cmon people! I can say anything to anyone's face just like i can online..

A nice holiday off

Even if its one day.. any extra day off from work is faboo in my book!

I have recently rearranged my living room and bed room. Thanks Megan for all the help. And for the vase with the cool bamboo.

Ok so incase you missed it.. Aaron gave me my anniversary gift early this year,, and iPhone 4. I am inlove with it.. not as much as inlove as i am with him but its a close second.. just kidding darling.
